Wisconsin bankers not yet comfortable with hemp, WBA survey finds


Despite growing interest from farmers and businesses in hemp and products made with its derivatives, banks in Wisconsin said they have low confidence in the industry.

The federal government’s latest farm bill legalized hemp, with restrictions on cultivating the crop. Wisconsin already operates an industrial hemp research pilot program; the program was permitted under the 2014 federal farm bill.
