$175 million expansion of Longhorn football stadium would mean more suites, completion of ‘bowl’


Darrel K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium could be enlarged in a big way, growing the sporting clout of the University of Texas at Austin and opening up new contracting opportunities for construction and design companies.

University of Texas System regents are scheduled to vote Thursday on a $175 million expansion of the home of the Longhorn football team, according to the online agenda under item No. 12. The project would add to the south end zone and turn Royal-Memorial Stadium into a complete "bowl."
