A Walmart heir’s purchase of properties in Cherry Hills Village last month easily took the No. 1 spot amongst local residential sales in May.
Ben and Lucy Walton, acting as Terra Nevada LLC, purchased four parcels in Cherry Hills Village for $22 million on May 11, according to property records. Walton is the grandson of Walmart founder Sam Walton.
The Waltons purchased four parcels on East Stanford Avenue and South Vine Way. Arapahoe County records indicate the combined site is nearly 8 acres with three homes.
The properties were sold in an off-market deal by Stanford & Vine LLC, which is managed by local wildcatter William D. Armstrong, the CEO of Armstrong Oil & Gas, records show.
It’s the second priciest residential sale ever in the metro area, trailing only Russell Wilson and Ciara’s purchase in April of a Cherry Hills Village home for $25 million, which BusinessDen was the first to report on.

Countryside Lane mansion, Cherry Hills Village: $13 million
Designed by Denver-based Boss Architecture and completed in 2014, this 10,070-square-foot mansion was built with seamless indoor-outdoor living in mind, according to a previous listing.
It features four bedrooms, seven bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling sliding glass walls throughout that open onto a central outdoor courtyard, a small covered terrace with an outdoor fireplace, a guest house, a Koi pond and a Japanese soaking tub.
The buyer was Willy Walker, CEO of Maryland-based real estate financing firm Walker & Dunlop, which has been ramping up operations here since it acquired JCR Capital in 2018.

Hilltop mansion in 4300 block of E. Cedar Ave.: $8 million
This 11,029-square-foot Hilltop mansion was designed by Boulder-based Left Hand Design Group and built by the Brown Development Group in 2018. It blends the feel of a Beverly Hills home with nature-inspired elements to create a Colorado aesthetic with custom finishes and amenities around every corner, according to the listing.
There are five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a custom rainbow onyx fireplace in the living room, a sound-proof music studio, a speakeasy with wood-paneled walls from a Chicago bar frequented by Al Capone, a saltwater infinity pool and hot tub, a putting green and a rooftop deck.

Sitting on 2.51 acres in Greenwood Village, this 11,849-square-foot mansion features five bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Outside, there’s a swimming pool with a water slide, hot tub, custom-built fire pit, terrace and garden.
The finished basement includes a wine room, exercise room, wet bar, theater, office, billiards area and storage. There’s also a heated garage with a studio space.
