Activist investor Daniel Loeb pushes Campbell sale


Activist investor Daniel S. Loeb and his hedge fund Third Point are pushing for a sale of Camden, N.J.-based Campbell Soup Co., according to new court filings.

Loeb was rumored to be in talks with family members about supporting a plan to explore the possible sale of Campbell Soup Co., but there was no official word Loeb and Third Point had any stake in Campbell.

Now it's official, according to a 13D document filed Thursday, which shows Third Point has a 5.65 percent stake in Campbell.
