Home prices decline in two more metro Denver counties
The Colorado Association of Realtors is confirming an earlier report from the Denver Metro Association of Realtors that metro Denver home prices suffered an annual decline in February.
That’s the first time that has happened since 2012. But with strong gains still piling up along the southern Front Range and in Mesa County, home prices statewide are still rising.
The median sales price of a single-family home that sold in metro Denver dropped 0.7 percent year-over-year to $417,500, while the median sales price of a townhome/condo that sold was $298,0000, down just under 1 percent, according to the Colorado Association of Realtors.
Statewide, single-family home prices are still up 2.6 percent from a year earlier to $384,900, while townhome/condo prices were up 0.3 percent to $296,000.
“There is a shift in the market, and everyone is trying to predict where it is taking us. Opinions vary widely on this point,” Denver Realtor Jim Brown said in a recent blog post.

Abandoned gas station site in Plant City to be transformed into kidney clinic
The site of an abandoned gas station in Plant City will be demolished and turned into a new medical office building.
A project dubbed the “Plant City Medical Office Building” will comprise of a 7,461-square-foot dialysis clinic and nearly 2,000-square-foot kidney clinic, according to a site plan filed in the Southwest Florida Water Management District permits.
The project site is on the corner of North Wheeler Road and Monroe Street.

Albany Med secures state approval to open surgery center in Niskayuna
Albany Medical Center received a necessary approval this week from the state to open a new surgery center in Niskayuna.
The hospital plans to open an outpatient surgery center focused on gastroenterology at 1769 Union St. in Niskayuna. Albany Med already operates an urgent care and specialty physician practices in the building.

Becerra claims early victory in Sutter Health pricing suit
California Attorney General Xavier Becerra’s office claimed an early legal victory in its year-old suit against Sacramento-based Sutter Health.
The suit, claiming the Sacramento-based health system dominates the Northern California health care market, is being heard in San Francisco County Superior Court.
On Thursday, the court rejected Sutter’s motions to have parts of the suit dismissed. Those parts were claims alleging price tampering and combination to monopolize.
