Summerfield mayor asks legislature not to vote on de-annexation of Couch’s planned development as it works toward solution
After a text amendment that could potentially allow David Couch to develop his vision for Villages at Summerfield Farms was passed by Summerfield, the town's mayor sent a letter to state legislative leaders asking them not to vote on de-annexation of the property. But that was just a step in the process and the item remains on the General Assembly calendar. A spokesperson for Couch expressed concerns about the Summerfield council's attempts to come up with a solution, saying several “surprise changes” uwere included in the amendment, making “the proposal more challenging.”
