Campbell Soup’s shareholder meeting to proceed as planned, judge says


Campbell Soup Co.'s Nov. 29 annual shareholder meeting will proceed as planned.

That's according to a New Jersey judge who denied activist investor Dan Loeb’s motion for expedited discovery into the soupmaker’s board Friday.

Loeb ignited a proxy fight against Campbell Soup's (NYSE: CPB) current board through his hedge fund, Third Point LLC. He aims to replace Campbell’s entire 12-person board, but may not have enough support.
