Cary hotel developer denies it paid supporters at Town Council meeting


A hotel developer in Cary is denying that it paid people to show up to a Cary Town Council meeting to speak in favor of its project, but council members are skeptical.

The controversy began when an anonymous ad surfaced on Craigslist last week. The post sought 20 people who would attend the meeting and give support for an unnamed development proposal.
