Cash is king? Not for consumers

Cash payments are becoming fewer and farther between.

The Pew Research Center reports fewer weekly purchases are made with cash, as almost 30 percent of adults make no purchases with cash in a typical week.

That’s grown from 24 percent in 2015, Pew reports. Payment options in recent years have only grown, with the rise in mobile pay.

Additionally, the percentage of people who use cash for all of their weekly purchases has dropped, from 24 percent in 2015 to 18 percent today.
