The food delivery app Waitr is expanding to other metro area cities this fall.

The Southern Shelby County cities of Helena, Pelham and Alabaster can expect food delivery to launch there Oct. 11.

New York-based burger chain Shake Shack is slated to open at the Falls in Miami later this year.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Shake Shack to the Falls, as we know our customers will love having another world-class dining option, adding to the experiential nature of the center,” said Dailen Rodriguez, the Falls general manager.

According to a sign on the door, The Little Donkey, a Mexican restaurant operated by Birmingham-based Pihakis Restaurant Group, closed for good at 5 p.m. on Oct. 7. As of lunchtime Tuesday, the restaurant's patio seating had already been cleared away.
