Dunkin' is throwing away the 'Donuts.'

Canton-based Dunkin' Brands Group Inc. (Nasdaq: DNKN) announced Tuesday that it will officially change the chain's name from “Dunkin' Donuts” to simply “Dunkin.'” The change will be effective January 2019, and will be reflected on all packaging, as well as the company's advertising and website. All new and remodeled stores in the U.S. will use the new 'Dunkin' logo on interior and exterior signage.

Momotaro, an Asian cafe concept that will serve hand-rolled ice cream, poke bowls, sweet and savory crepes and specialty teas, opens this week. The eatery is one of several new leases at the Pickwick Place property in the heart of Five Points South.

Graeter's Ice Cream Co., one of Greater Cincinnati's largest private companies, has bought the last of its remaining franchised ice cream shops in Louisville, Lexington and Indianapolis, which means the family-owned ice cream manufacturer now owns and operates all of its more than 50 retail stores.
