Opening of Elliot Park Hotel puts a wrap on KA Block development (gallery)
The upscale Elliot Park Hotel has opened to the public, marking the end of a $175 million redevelopment that’s transformed an entire block on the east side of downtown over the past two years.

Kraft Heinz buys Canadian coffee company
Kraft Heinz Co.’s Canadian subsidiary has acquired Ethical Bean Coffee, a Vancouver-based roasting company, according to Daily Coffee News by Roast Magazine.
Terms were not disclosed.
Kraft Heinz (Nasdaq:KHC) is based in Pittsburgh and in Chicago and owns coffee brands Maxwell House and Gevalia.
Ethical Bean, launched in 2003. Its core business is roasting for grocery distribution and wholesale, the article said.

Fancy Sprinkles secures funding from Sterling Partners
Fancy Sprinkles, a Los Angeles-based maker of confectionery sprinkles, has received funding from Chicago-based investment management firm Sterling Partners.
Fancy Sprinkles didn’t disclose how much it received from Sterling but said it is the first institutional investment for the two-year-old startup.
Fancy Sprinkles sells its products à la carte through a monthly subscription and through partnerships, including an upcoming agreement with Neiman Marcus.

Annie Gunn’s, located at 16806 Chesterfield Airport Road, is among OpenTable’s 100 best restaurants for wine lovers. It is the only Missouri restaurant included on the list.
Annie Gunn’s features American cuisine, including steak and seafood specialities. The restaurant has more than 700 wine selections on its wine list.

Sonic joining Arby’s and Buffalo Wild Wings in $2.3 billion deal
Inspire Brands Inc. is picking up another fast-food chain: Sonic Corp.
The Atlanta-based restaurant group, which already owns Arby’s, Buffalo Wild Wings and Rusty Taco, will pay approximately $2.3 billion for Sonic, a 65-year-old chain known for its drive-in format and customizable menu including burgers, hot dogs and a plethora of drinks.
