It’s no secret the Covid-19 pandemic left the restaurant industry with a bad aftertaste. For Stephen Williams, the longtime owner of Covington’s Bouquet, a farm-to-table eatery, it also served as a crux for major change.

It's the first of “a series of upcoming additions” to expand the business, said Bay Club CEO Matthew Stevens.

Dubbed “Hello Eats,” the local juice and smoothie shop’s newest product line was made in collaboration with Allison Lesko, a registered dietitian and founder of Lesko Health, a St. Louis-based nutrition and wellness consultancy.

The eatery, which features items like hand-crafted burgers, made-to-order fries and shakes, is one of the first food and beverage outlets to open in the newest concourse at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

A Boulder-based startup that developed lozenges to help people rebalance their hormones and reduce their anxiety, secured a $7.37 million Series C round this week. This funding comes five months after the startup launched its first products.

Shanita McAfee-Bryant hopes the success of her culinary-focused nonprofit will spur more development and investment in Kansas City's East Side. The Prospect KC will offer participants training in culinary as well as general life skills. The effort includes a coffee shop and café called The Spot.

The cafe will serve teas, coffee, cold drinks and pastries such as a traditional Yemeni baked good called sabaya, which is a layered dough pastry typically served with honey.

The iconic bagel and coffee shop will be coming to developer Robert Blackmon’s historic service station.
