Property foreclosures in the U.S. fell to a 13-year low in 2018, although Georgia remains among the nation’s leaders, according to a report unveiled today.

Foreclosure filings — default notices, scheduled auctions and bank repossessions — were reported on 624,753 U.S. properties in 2018, down 8 percent from 2017 to the lowest level since 2005. The data comes from Attom Data Solutions, a California-based company.

Zillow is jumping into Nashville’s housing market.

Zillow, known for its website of real estate listings and valuations, will launch its Zillow Offers business in Nashville this year, according to a news release. Zillow Offers directly buys a seller’s house, prepares it for showings and then lists it for sale. Zillow, which is based in Seattle, will use local brokers when selling homes.

Stapleton remains Colorado’s top-selling new home community, claiming the 11th spot nationally last year with 622 sales, according to a ranking from John Burns Real Estate Consulting.

But home sales at Stapleton, which Forest City Enterprises has developed for two decades, are down 18 percent from the 758 sold in 2017. Stapleton’s sales volume has swung around based on the availability of lots. Last year represented a time of transition, with the Denver community opening up its 12th and final neighborhood this summer.

Green Valley Ranch, which regularly made the top 50 below Stapleton, didn’t make the cut on the John Burns’ list last year. But Banning Lewis Ranch in Colorado Springs shot up out of nowhere, with 342 sales, enough to rank 45th nationally.
