Multifamily rental rates in the St. Louis region have risen over 14 percent since 2014.

Real estate agents say the growing demand and slower pricing pace signal a healthy market, one that hasn’t seen the overheating that it did in the years leading up to the downturn.

An increase in the number of homes it sold and closed in 2017 helped Chesterfield-based homebuilder Consort Homes have an increase in revenue year-over-year.

The company sold or closed 155 homes in 2017, up from 128 in 2016. Consort Homes closed out its WillowBrooke community in Creve Coeur, a project the company said is its most successful to date.

Strong performance in the health care and corporate sectors boosted Color Art’s 2017 revenue by more than 12 percent.

“It was our best year ever,” said Gary Mindel, president and CEO.

The improving economy and an acquisition grew revenue in 2017 for Lionmark Construction Cos., a privately held group of companies that specializes in road construction including grading, paving and bridgework.

Midas Hospitality had a banner year in 2017 as revenue grew 25 percent to $79.4 million.
