Centene Corp. and WellCare Health Plans Inc. have received approval from 17 states for Centene's pending $17.3 billion acquisition of WellCare, the companies said Thursday.
The recent approvals came from insurance departments in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont and Washington. The companies sought regulatory approval in 27 states.
