Chairman and co-founder of Chuy’s Tex-Mex restaurant chain resigns after arrest

John Zapp has been replaced as chairman of the board at Chuy’s Holdings Inc. after he was arrested for allegedly punching his wife in the face.

Zapp, who resigned from the board of the Austin, Texas-based Tex-Mex restaurant chain on May 9, was jailed on April 23 and charged with assault family violence, the Austin American-Statesman reports. The arrest stemmed from a March 18 incident when Zapp allegedly hit his wife following an argument in the car, according to a police affidavit.
