City moves ahead with downtown parking deck – with major changes


The proposed parking deck on Eugene and Bellemeade streets is back on track, the city says.

But the $30 million project no longer looks like the public-private partnership once planned. And it's unclear exactly what role downtown developer Roy Carroll could play in the project.

On Friday, the city said in a press release that it's moving forward with the Eugene Street deck, planned to sit just south of the Greensboro Grasshoppers' First National Bank Field.
