The standard narrative for startup companies is that once they get off the ground and gain some momentum, they move from their founders’ kitchen table or garage into a flexible office or co-working space. Then, if they continue to succeed and grow, they move out of the nontraditional office realm and into the classic private office space, thus completing the metamorphosis from startup to corporate pillar.
Count Denver-based tech firm FullContact among the companies bucking that storyline. The company has announced it is moving out of its suite at 1755 Blake St. in Lower Downtown and into flexible office space provider WeWork’s newest Denver space in the Tabor Center. A major factor behind the move, FullContact officials said, was the flexibility the upscale WeWork space offered a company projected to grow from 90 employees to 175 by 2022.
“A headquarters should serve as the foundation for company culture, so our biggest considerations when searching for a new office were brand and functionality,” FullContact’s director of operations Matt Hubbard said in a statement. “In the end, the WeWork space checked all of our boxes and more, in regard to flexibility, ease of transition, and premium employee amenities.”
The company will occupy an entire floor of WeWork’s Tabor Center Space when it moves into the building at 1200 17th. St. in November. The space will have a FullContact exclusive reception area and 17 private spaces reserved for FullContact offices and meeting rooms, according to a news release.

FullContact worked with commercial real estate services company CBRE to locate an ideal space and ink a deal. In a recent survey of North and South American companies, CBRE found that more than 70 percent of executives anticipated using co-working spaces to give their companies increased flexibility over the next three years, the company said in a news release announcing the FullContact arrangement.
“FullContact initially launched its headquarters search looking at traditional options, but the ability to customize a space under a short-term lease made flex space an attractive solution,” Alex Hammerstein, a CBRE senior vice president who represented FullContact in lease negotiations, said in a statement. “There are more options every day for companies seeking agility in their real estate. The landscape of what’s possible is changing rapidly. We helped FullContact explore all avenues to arrive at the best overall solution to accommodate its growth.”
