Here’s how many hours Tampa Bay workers need to work to afford rent


A new report from real estate company Zillow highlights that Americans are feeling the widening gap between wage growth and rent growth compared to before the pandemic.

According to the data, renters need to clock in an additional six hours a month since before the pandemic to make their monthly payments. Nationally, Americans who make an average hourly wage must work close to 63 hours before earning enough to cover typical monthly rents that average $2,040.
