IBM wields blockchain tech to ensure food safety


Last year, International Business Machines Corp. led a group of companies across the global food supply chain on a blockchain collaboration.

On Monday, the Armonk, New York-based tech company confirmed that the system is up and running with a growing list of network participants.

The first companies to jump on board with the initiative included Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR), Tyson Foods (NYSE: TSN), Unilever (NYSE: UN) and Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT).
