Medicaid waiver extension could bring millions in new funding


Health care leaders say a state effort could bring hundreds of millions in potential new funding, and allow efforts at Medicaid reform to continue evolving here.

The New York State Department of Health plans to ask the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for another $8 billion to extend its Delivery System Reform Incentive Program (DSRIP) for another four years. The program was originally funded for five years in 2015 through a $7.3 billion Medicaid waiver program.
