Missouri: Aetna-Humana merger would be unhealthy for competition


Missouri became the first state to object to the $37 billion merger of Aetna Inc. and Humana Inc. when regulators issued an order late Tuesday finding the deal anticompetitive.

Although federal regulators have final say on the merger, Missouri can order the company to stop doing business in its state regarding these plans: comprehensive individual, comprehensive small group and group Medicare Advantage.
