Near West Side gets $1.3M grant for housing, economic development


A $1.3 million federal grant awarded Monday will help plan for a major public housing rehab in Milwaukee’s near west side and deeper efforts to further improve the area for residents and businesses.

The grant is the result of a partnership between the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee and the private Near West Side Partners organization.
