Philly Pops will cease operations after 43 years of performances


The Philly Pops, the largest standalone pops orchestra in the country, announced Wednesday that it will cease operations after more than 40 years in Philadelphia.

The orchestra said it will finish out the remainder of its 2022-23 season, which runs through June 2023, ending with a three-day run of "Star Wars: A Galaxy of Music" at Verizon Hall.
