Public-private partnerships may be a key weapon to combat the affordable housing crisis


On July 14, representatives from state and private agencies met in Houston to discuss how public-private partnerships could be the solution to the affordable housing crisis in Texas, a state that rates higher than just five others for affordable housing availability. Opportunities abound for private builders. Experts also looked at how NIMBY attitudes among mayors and city council members got Texas into this predicament.
