Regulators sign off on initial license for first Boston-based pot shop


The Cannabis Control Commission issued a preliminary recreational marijuana license to a Boston applicant, which could be the first to open a pot shop within the city limits.

The five-member commission approved a provisional license for Dorchester-based Pure Oasis during its Wednesday hearing.

The applicant is also the first economic empowerment applicant that has received licensing approval. Marijuana regulators have promised prioritized review to businesses certified as "economic empowerment"…
