Sedgwick County changes structure of EMS management


Sedgwick County announced Tuesday that it will merge its EMS and medical director offices in an attempt to streamline its resources.

The county says a physician-led model may reduce unnecessary ambulance transports and ER visits while delivering more cost-effective health care.

Dr. John Gallagher, formerly EMS System Medical Director, becomes EMS director and oversees nearly 1,000 EMS providers in Sedgwick County.
