Square loses key executive to Visa amid payments upheaval


Visa said Friday that Square’s Mary Kay Bowman will join the San Francisco-based card giant as head of seller solutions, working on new services to “transform the payment experience.”

That’s a fancy way of saying the payments industry is being turned upside down by the likes of Square, PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) and other upstarts. So the established players, including Visa (NYSE: V) and MasterCard (NYSE: MA), are aggressively bringing on talent.
