Stewart acquires Tennessee co., shareholders approve $1.2B Fidelity deal


Houston-based real estate services company Stewart Information Services Corp. (NYSE: STC) has acquired a Brentwood, Tennessee-based title company is it moves closer to completing a much bigger deal.

Stewart announced Sept. 4 that it acquired Southland Title and Escrow Co.’s business. According to a press release, Southland has been “one of Middle Tennessee’s leading title agencies” for two decades, and the companies have had a long-standing relationship in the community.
