The Funded: Big deals include Ford, Sequoia backing autonomous fleet management startup


Sequoia Capital and a Palo Alto company that Ford Motor Co. bought earlier this year are getting behind a company founded by former Apple and Uber mapping and navigation engineers.

San Francisco-based rideOS (sort of rhymes with iOS) came out of stealth on Friday to say that it raised $9 million in a Series A round led by Sequoia and joined by Graph Ventures and SV Angel. Sequoia partner Mike Vernal has joined the startup's board.
