Where you grow up can have a huge impact on how much you earn later in life, new data shows.

Researchers from Harvard University, Brown University and the U.S. Census Bureau created the Opportunity Atlas, an interactive tool aiming to trace the root of issues such as poverty, income levels and job growth. It shows that adjacent neighborhoods can have drastically different outcomes, especially in low-income areas.
