UPS subsidiary bolsters pharmaceutical logistics presence in Europe


UPS subsidiary Marken has purchased a trio of companies that bolster its logistics services to the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries in Europe.

Merken said this week it bought Italy-based HRTL; HETO, based in Austria; and Hungarian company Der Kurier. Together the group operates offices in Vienna, Milan, Rome, and Gyor (near Budapest), delivering 7,000 clinical trial shipments per month. The deal brings Marken's total network of sites to 51, including 10 clinical storage depots.
