Walgreens realigns leadership team after $1.3B acquisition


Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) has acquired the remainder of Shields Health Solutions for $1.37 billion and restructured its U.S. business to give the CEO of Shields a leadership role.

WBA’s full acquisition of Shields from other equity holders follows the increase of WBA’s stake to approximately 70% in September 2021. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the 2022 calendar year.
