Wawa pays $8M to Pa., NJ, five other states over 2019 data breach


Wawa has agreed to pay $8 million to seven states that sued the convenience store chain over its December 2019 data breach that compromised approximately 34 million payment cards.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro said he and acting New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin led a coalition of seven attorney generals in investigating the breach.
