Buffalo housing market sees faster sales and higher prices


As inventory keeps slipping, prices keep increasing for prospective home buyers in the Buffalo metropolitan area.

The monthly snapshot from May revealed a 6 percent jump in median prices in the past year, reaching $146,750 compared to $138,500. The average price of a single-family home rose 10 percent to $174,086 from $158,331.

The Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors reported sales dropped 26.4 percent year-over-year to 744 from 1,011.
