Bankruptcies declining across Western New York


The bankruptcy court in the Western District of New York state had less business in June as filings in both Buffalo and Rochester lessened.

Figures provided by the court showed 215 cases filed in Buffalo, down 7.1 percent from 237 a year ago. In Rochester, there were 122 cases brought to court, a drop of 3.7 percent from 139 in the past year.

In the first six months of 2018, the caseload in Buffalo has fallen by 7.1 percent to 1,345 from 1,448. In Rochester, the number is down 3.7 percent to 720…
