Dayton Art Institute’s $7.4M economic impact on region in 2018
The Dayton Art Institute had a busy year ahead of its centennial. From the debut of new exhibitions to the hosting signature events, the museum had an estimated economic impact of more than $7.4 million on the Dayton metropolitan area in 2018.
This amount, among other statistics and insights, was revealed in the museum's 2018 community report.

Restaurant roundup: Popular eateries open Woodlands locations
At least three popular restaurant chains are opening their first Woodlands locations within a month of each other: Snooze, An A.M. Eatery; Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café; and Flower Child.
Snooze's seventh Houston-area location will hold its grand opening on March 20, the Denver-based company announced in a press release.
The Woodlands spot at 2415 Research Forest Drive is just under 4,000 square feet. It will also feature a 1,400-square-foot dog-friendly patio, Community Impact reported.

Southern California-based Ways & Means Oyster House recently announced plans to open two Hawaii restaurants — one at Royal Hawaiian Center on Oahu and the other at Shops at Wailea on Maui — as part of a larger expansion throughout the country.

Lupa, Foreman Wolf’s Italian trattoria on the Columbia lakefront, will close this weekend
Lupa is closing on the Columbia lakefront after one year in business.
The Italian trattoria from Foreman Wolf will serve its last meals on Saturday, the restaurant announced Friday.
Lupa, helmed by Executive Chef James Lewandowski, replaced the Columbia location of Petit Louis Bistro, another Foreman Wolf restaurant, when it opened last year. The eatery serves Italian classics like handmade pasta, Roman-style focaccia pizza and gelato.

Report: Steak ‘n Shake closes one Triad location
The Steak ‘n Shake at 2647 Lawndale Drive in Greensboro has closed, according to the Greensboro News & Record.
Brett Weathersbee, part of the management company that also operates the Steak 'n Shake at 4409 Wendover Ave., told the News & Record that “(w)e made a business decision that it was time to close the unit on Lawndale Drive.”
