The Charlotte Business Journal is continuing its monthly series that provides a review of health code inspections for Mecklenburg County restaurants.

Restaurants featured in this section scored either a “B” or “C” when inspected in the month of January, according to data pulled Feb. 7 from the N.C. Public Health Inspections online database.

Jimmy John’s, the fast-food sandwich company, on Thursday emphatically stated it will never turn to third-party food delivery services.

That includes the likes of Chicago-based GrubHub (NYSE: GRUB) and UberEats, to name but two of the biggest.

Jimmy John’s instead will rely on delivery by staff that work directly for the sandwich company.

Cheffie's Cafe could be on its way to Shelby Farms Park.

Matt Wilson, managing partner of Cheffie's parent company MEM Hospitality, said Tuesday that he has had multiple conversations with the park's leadership about Cheffie's occupying the space previously held by the Kitchenette Grab 'n Go Cafe.

“It would be a natural fit for Cheffie's,” Wilson said.

Manufacturing and selling its diminutive French desserts, Petit Pot has tripled its headcount, quadrupled its revenue since 2016 and gone national.

Das Bevo will cease its restaurant operations as it continues to host private events.

In announcing the change, the business said in a Facebook post that its private event business is “booming.”

Pat and Carol Schuchard renovated the Bevo Mill landmark, which is located in south St. Louis and reopened in May 2017. They told the Business Journal that year that they invested $1.5 million in the property. The project received a 10-year tax abatement from the city.

A sports bar opening in late April is the next addition to the Milwaukee Bucks' entertainment block across from Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee.

The MECCA Sports Bar and Grill will open in an 11,500-square-foot space in the same building as Good City Brewing's new downtown location, which opened last month. The new space will be “devoted to all sports,” according to a Bucks' press release, and feature a 36-foot, high-definition screen as its centerpiece.

Perry’s Steakhouse will kick off its 40th anniversary by opening a new flagship restaurant — the company’s first inside the 610 Loop — on Feb. 11.

The restaurant sits at the former California Pizza Kitchen spot at 1997 W. Gray St. at McDuffie. The 12,000-square-foot building was a nearly $9 million project and is the restaurant’s first two-story location, said COO Rick Henderson.

On-demand delivery service pioneer Postmates has filed to go public, kicking off a stream of such offerings in what's expected to be a blockbuster IPO year.

The San Francisco-based company has confidentially submitted its IPO filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, according to Bloomberg. Postmates is expected to be valued at $1.85 billion – a valuation it received last month after raising another $100 million.
