Pearl’s first restaurant to close its doors
Il Sogno, the first restaurant to open at Pearl nearly 10 years ago, will shut its doors permanently on May 6.
Opened in 2009 by local chef and restauranteur Andrew Weissman, Il Sogno helped Pearl become the dining destination it is today. Weissman said his desire to spend more time with his family and pursue other projects contributed to his decision to close the restaurant.

Hawaii Office of Consumer Protection investigates Zippy’s data breach
The Hawaii Office of Consumer Protection is launching an investigation into a data breach that impacted all 25 Zippy’s Restaurants in the state as well as its Napoleon’s Bakery, Kahala Sushi and Pearl City Sushi locations.

The Hall on Franklin will debut its first-ever pop-up restaurant on Cinco de Mayo — Xilo, a Mexican street food concept by the owners of Piquant.
