Former Miami Dolphin Suh sells Fort Lauderdale home at $650,000 loss
Former Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh, the highest-paid player on the team before his release in March, sold his Fort Lauderdale home at a $650,000 loss.
Working through the TwoOneSeven Revocable Trust, Suh bought the 11,092-square-foot home at 1717 Middle River Drive for $6.5 million in 2015. He sold it in April – one month after his release by the team – for $5.85 million to Ryan Collison and Liliana Collison.
The home was built on the 20,461-square-foot site along the New…

Apartments continue to dominate the landscape, but townhomes have provided residences to those who want to purchase closer to the city but can't afford or don't want the upkeep of a house.
Somerset Homes redevelopment says residents first, then retail will follow
The building, called S-2, will total 240,000 square feet and include 197 mixed-income units and 2,500 square feet of retail space. It is the second of four buildings planned for the area.

CU Denver wants to add dorms at Auraria, but needs a development partner to do it
University of Colorado Denver wants to provide dorms and dining on the Auraria campus for its first-year students, but needs a development partner for the project it says is required by an expected enrollment surge.
CU Denver has hired real estate advisory and management firm JLL to help find the partner, advise the school on how to leverage its existing real estate holdings and set priorities for its 10-year master plan.
Part of JLL’s job is to find a private firm to build something on a vacant 3-acre parcel next to the 700-bed Campus Village Apartments near East Colfax Avenue and Auraria Parkway, and to construct the dorm on the other side of campus, near Speer Boulevard.
School officials say the master plan also calls for a new engineering and physical science building for the campus.
“As Colorado’s only public, urban research university, CU Denver is committed to its home in the heart of this vibrant city,” CU Denver Chancellor Dorothy Horrell said. “We’ve hired JLL to help us ..

New One Beale plans detail ‘four separate and distinct components’
Carlisle Corp. is again asking for more time to close on the financing of its ambitious One Beale tower project Downtown — and it has gone from two towers to more of a cluster of buildings.
In documents released today by the Downtown Memphis Commission's Center City Revenue Finance Corp. (CCRFC), the developers have asked the board to extend the deadline to close on a previously approved, 20-year PILOT (payment in lieu of taxes) incentive.
Since the PILOT's approval in July 2015, Carlisle Corp.…

If things go Dustin Hamilton and Brock Holliman's way, new apartments will rise just south of Loflin Yard by the middle of 2019.
The developers recently submitted an application to the Center City Revenue Finance Corp. (CCRFC) for a 15-year tax break for an $8 million mixed-use project at 27 W. Carolina Ave. The project would include 57 apartments and — in a departure from most of the nearby apartment buildings — 8,000 square feet of ground-floor retail, according to the application.

Ikea cancels plans for second store in North Carolina
It's been almost a year to the day since Swedish furniture giant Ikea announced plans to open a store at Cary Towne Center — its second in the Carolinas after arriving in Charlotte almost a decade ago. Now, the town says the retailer is no longer coming.
In a statement posted on the town of Cary’s website, Town Manager Sean Stegall said Ikea has decided not to make the move because of its “evolving business model.”
“They are moving away from suburban big box retail outlets and into global city…
