Owner of St. Cloud’s Press Bar sentenced to prison for arson


The owner of a St. Cloud bar destroyed by fire in February 2020 was sentenced to 71 months in prison and ordered to pay $3.1 million in restitution for setting the fire in a scheme to collect insurance money.

Andrew Charles Welsh, 43, of St. Joseph was also ordered by U.S. District Judge Eric Tostrud to serve three years of supervised release following the prison sentence, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice about the sentencing.
