Podcast: How the Bygone’s elevator attendant took an outdated job and made it his own


You may not know his name, but many of you would probably recognize his face — or at the very least, his signature top hat.

Leander Douglass is the attendant that mans a special dedicated elevator inside the Four Seasons Baltimore, which serves as the only way visitors can get up to the Bygone bar and restaurant on the top floor. The Bygone, which is owned by Atlas Restaurant Group, opened in December 2017 and has become a popular attraction among locals and out-of-towners.
