An Atlanta-based burger restaurant has closed its location of nine years at The Summit.

FLIP Burger Boutique closed its doors at 220 Summit Blvd., Suite 140 on Dec. 5.

The burger chain opened its Birmingham location in December 2009.

Enjoying a beer and throwing axes feels a little wrong, but that's fine by Krista Paton, co-owner of the new Somerville spot Urban Axes.

“It feels a little forbidden,” Paton said of axe-throwing. “There's something a little primal-feeling when you hit that first bullseye. You don't really experience that in a concrete-jungle world.”

One of Nashville's highest-regarded restaurants will soon see a change in the leadership of its kitchen.

Ryan Poli, executive chef at The Catbird Seat since 2016, will leave the high-profile Midtown restaurant at the end of the year, as will his brother Matthew, the restaurant's beverage director. Tara Tocco, spokeswoman for Catbird Seat owner Strategic Hospitality, shared the news in an email, in which she said the restaurant group would announce Poli's replacement “in the coming weeks.”

Jersey Mike’s will open its eighth Hawaii location on Dec. 12 near Kahala Mall at 4618 Kilauea Avenue.

It will open another Honolulu location soon at the Hale Mahana student housing project near the University of Hawaii Manoa campus. The building will also be home to the first Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers location, opening next week, and Starbucks. The first tenant at Hale Mahana was pizza chain Pieology, which opened its fourth location in October at the building.
